PUBLIC NOTICE Baltimore County Invites Organizations To Apply For Homeless Services Bonus Funding Baltimore County invites organizations to express their interest in applying for a bonus project(s) as part of the annual Continuum of Care funding program (CoC) that is administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The County expects that approximately $245,995 in federal funds will be available for the bonus project(s). The County is flexible with regard to the number of projects that could be supported through the bonus funding. In accordance with federal guidelines, the CoC program provides funding to organizations that provide services and assistance to families and individuals who are homeless or face the threat of homelessness. The Baltimore County Department of Planning serves as the lead agency coordinating the allocation of HUD Continuum of Care funds awarded to meet Baltimore County's need for services to the homeless. Organizations interested in applying for a CoC bonus project to help meet Baltimore County needs should contact County Homeless Services Administrator Keenan Jones at kejones@baltimorecountymd.gov or 410-887-3317. Interested applicants should send a letter of intent to Mr. Jones by 3 p.m. August 18, 2017. After the department receives letters of intent, it will send out a Request for Proposals to solicit thorough responses from applicants. The final application for bonus project funding will be due to Mr. Jones by 4:30 p.m. Friday, August 25, 2017. The availability of bonus project funding in this current CoC funding round was first announced by HUD July 14 as part of its official Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA). Guidelines on the types of services that can be funded through this bonus project opportunity can be found in federal law: The McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, as amended by S. 896, The Homeless Emergency Assistance and Rapid Transition to Housing (HEARTH) Act of 2009
